    What’s it all about

“Design is about imagining future possibilities and making things that enable us to live some of these possibilities…”
    Bratteteig, 2009.

Design, what is it good for? is an international poster design competition and exhibition platform for design students to explore the difference design makes and the role of designers in the real world.

Hosted by Swinburne University of Technology, London College of Communication and Western Sydney University, The Design, what is it good for? brief invites submissions from students enrolled in tertiary and secondary design programs and schools from around the world.

The project briefs stimulate debate by exploring issues of social responsibility and personal accountability in the field of design. The competition, exhibition and online forum provides students an opportunity to collaborate globally, on an international stage and serves as a conduit between industry, education and the general public to nurture and sustain future communities of design practice.

Winning entries in all competitions receive 12 mth Adobe Creative Cloud Subscriptions!

Design, what is it good for?
Project partipants will create an informed response in the form of a written manifesto and poster design. This project rests on the premise and belief that designers have agency and it is possible to stand up as a designer and a citizen for something that you believe in.
